Acommodation for Christians

The majority of flats consist of one bedroom, one living room with open plan kitchen and bathroom/wc. However, as they have been sympathetically created within two large Victorian villas, they are all different, yet retain much of the unique character of the period. Heating is provided from central gas boilers and is individually metered to each flat. The flats are double glazed, fully insulated and carpeted. There are attractive communal hallway entrances to all flats with lifts to the upper floors, for easy access. In the Lower Ground Floor Level of Fairfield there is a Communal Meeting Room and Store Rooms.

Aerial systems are installed for Television, FM Radio and Satellite TV

There is a communal laundry and deep freezes for both buildings. The well kept gardens are for the use of all residents on equal terms. One family flat is kept as a guest flat and is available to residents to rent at a subsidised rate. A gallery of the inside of the guest flats is at the bottom of this page.

The ambience of Fairfield is for people who wish to live ‘independently’ and peacefully in a Christian environment; to feel part of a fellowship who help each other.

The philosophy and culture of the Fairfield Trust is embodied in the history of the Trust and the generosity of its benefactor, the late Reverend Alex Dick . For further details click here.

The day to day management of the properties is carried out by Belmont Property Management with a manager visiting twice a week and available to deal with residents’ queries.

The rents and service charge for accommodation and the use of the amenities are kept as low as possible. However, if residents have insufficient income or savings, the Trust will help residents to apply to the local authority for Housing Benefit and may offer additional financial support.

Applications are invited from prospective tenants, who are committed Christians (as well as their spouses, widows or widowers) and during their careers have worked for churches or missions, either in the UK or abroad and are now unable to provide for a home of their own.

Please note that children and pets are not permitted, as our properties are unsuitable.

Our flats are let UNFURNISHED, so residents can create a unique home, using their own familiar furniture, fabrics and memorabilia, collected over the years. However, we do have some pieces of furniture in our store, which can be loaned to any resident who is short of an important item.
